Compare three cost saving methods for calling Iraq

Most people know there are some great deals out there for calling overseas.  But did you know that in some countries, like Iraq, savings vary based on whether you call a major city (in this case Baghdad), or you call other locations in Iraq, or your call a cellular phone in Iraq.

Let’s take a look at three examples with pricing as of the date of this post:

  • Calling Baghdad in Iraq:  The best rate we found at date of writing was 3 cents/min. (.90 cents for a 30 minute call), via Tel3Flex.
  • Calling elsewhere in Iraq: For calling other locations in Iraq (more expensive) we found a best rate of 7.9 cents/min. ($2.37 for a 30 minute call), via Lingo.
  • Calling a cellular phone in Iraq:  Then there’s cell phone calling to Iraq.  Here, Tel3Flex looked good at first, with the lowest rate of 13.9 cents/min. ($4.17 for a 30 minute call) — but they charge in 60 second increments, which means if there is no answer, or you speak one second past 30 minutes, you’re billed the full rate for the next minute – 13.9 cents.  So, we like Lingo at 15.9 cents a minute, because they only bill you in six second increments (those 13.9 full minute charges can add up if you call a lot).

    iPhone Accessories…

Looks like the consensus is about the same across the board. Apple fixed what it needed to fix (for the most part) with the iPhone 3G S (and the 3. 0 OS update) yet.. the iPhone 3G S isn’ t the compelling upgrade that the 3G was. Yup.. you can be sure …
